Ash Wood
Discover the versatility of Ash wood, a durable hardwood valued for its excellent properties and wide range of applications. At our facility, you’ll find premium-quality Ash sapwood, ranging in color from white to pale yellow or light yellow-brown. Freshly sawn Ash may even reveal a subtle pink hue, adding to its unique character.

Over time, exposure to light naturally deepens the color, with the sapwood turning a richer yellow and the heartwood developing warm brown tones.

Ash wood is renowned for its toughness, with the width of the growth rings playing a key role. Contrary to popular belief, brown Ash is not weaker than white Ash. In fact, Ash with wide growth rings—typically from faster-growing trees—is stronger and tougher than wood with narrow growth rings. As a ring-porous species, Ash delivers excellent durability and robustness.

Both European and American Ash share similar properties and uses, though American Ash may show brown streaks after planing (not visible on the rough surface). Japanese Ash (Tamo), by contrast, is lighter in weight and tends toward a browner shade.
