Berthing Aid System
The Straatman Berthing Aid System, also called the Docking Aid System, leverages advanced laser and LED technology to support safe and precise vessel docking. Using laser sensors, it accurately measures the distance between the jetty and the approaching vessel’s side. Key metrics—including bow and aft distances, approach speed, and angle—are displayed on a standard PC or a large LED screen.
The LED display can also show additional critical information, such as wind speed, currents, wave conditions, and other essential parameters, providing operators with a complete overview for safe and efficient mooring operations.
How the Berthing Aid System Works
The Berthing Aid System uses laser technology to measure the distance between the jetty and the side of an approaching vessel. These measurements are clearly displayed both on a jetty-mounted screen and in the control room. The LED display is supplied by our partner company, FactoryLab.
Additional features include wireless communication to tablets and advanced pager systems. With our integrated system expertise, we offer flexible solutions and extensive customization options to meet the unique needs of each project.
