An Alternative to Azobé
Angelim Vermelho features yellow-brown heartwood, often with stripes and a subtle orange tint that deepens to red-brown over time. The pinkish sapwood blends softly with the heartwood and is not always sharply defined.
This wood is suitable for many of the same civil engineering applications as Azobé. However, it should be noted that Angelim Vermelho can release color when in contact with water, making it unsuitable for applications like outdoor benches. Additionally, both fresh and dried wood retain a distinctive butyric odor.
